Half way

I realised yesterday that I am now at half way in the training schedule. So 8 weeks left to go. The runs this week have not been too much fun. I went for a faster run in the week and a short run yesterday. My legs feel quite heavy at the moment. Hopefully this is just a half way dip and it'll pick up soon.

I also realised that the original idea was to have a running AND maths blog, but I haven't mentioned any maths yet. So this is what I've been thinking about this weekend.

I've read about the accelerated survival function and the differece with the proportional hazard function. Basically, it seems to me that these are just rescaling on different transformations of the same thing. So the ASF is S*=1/a S(t/a) and PHF is h*=b h(t).
I also wonder if anyone has applied that Approoximate Bayesian Computation idea to Discrete Event Simulations? If we want to infer the parameters of the graph but the data and so the likelihood is intractable then maybe this is the way to go. I think that it's actuallly sort of obvious but it making the link with this theory thats interesting. I'm also going in a course about new methods in Bayesian Classification tomorrow. Should be interesting!
